The Muzika Piano Trio will be making its debut performance on Friday, August 3 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Java Vino Coffee Shop on Main Street in Racine. The trio consists of violinist Darlene Rivest, cellist Michele Chovan and pianist Anna Kojovic. Light classical musical will be performed during this event.

Darlene Rivest is a violinist from the Racine area. She performs with the Racine and Kenosha Symphonies. She is the concertmaster of the Milton-Janesville Choral Union Orchestra and the Southern Lakes Masterpiece Chorale Orchestra. She is the violinist in the Muzika Piano Trio, the Trio d’Amies and a Baroque violinist in the Eaton Chapel Players. She also performs with the Racine String Quartet, Lakeside Strings and as a freelance violinist and violist throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. She taught for 14 years at Beloit College as a violin and viola instructor and currently teaches strings at Christ Lutheran Academy in Pleasant Prairie. She received her B. A. in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her Masters of Music in violin performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Michele Chovan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where she received her B.A. in Music Performance. Michele has performed with the Zion Chamber Orchestra, the UW-Parkside Community Orchestra and the Kenosha Symphony. She is one of the founding members of the Encore Piano Trio, Muzika Piano Trio and performs regularly with the Racine String Quartet. She also performs as a freelance cellist in the Kenosha/Racine area. Ms. Chovan currently resides in Kenosha, where she maintains a private teaching studio.

Pianist Snjezana (Anna) Kojovic-Frodl is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a B. A. in Music performance. She is a founding member of Encore Piano Trio and performs with the Muzika Piano trio and as a soloist throughout the Racine and Kenosha area. She is also an active teacher with 50 plus students, teaching at both Schmitt Music Store and Lakeshore Conservatory of Music, both in Racine. She serves as an accompanist at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as well, for the studio of Curt Hanrahan. When Anna is not teaching she is serving as the Music Director for St. Patrick’s Congregation, also located in downtown Racine.
